Best of the summer scents
Perfume is the most intense form of memory
– Jean Paul Guerlain
Looking into my bathroom cupboard, there are exactly three scents, that have made it into my top list of 2015! There is not a day I leave the house without a spritz of sensuality as I feel rather naked without the usage of my favourite perfume. Going through years of trying out various smells and smelly waters (some better than others), I have found almost a handful of scents that are truly me. Perfumes that have come a long way with me and scents that I can base a lot of memories on. These odours are mainly to be worn in summer as their individual smell only adds to the feeling of free spirits and summer vibes. But enough of the talk, here come the best of the summer scents:
Marni by Marni
This scent came out in early 2013 and hit me straight away. Not only is the bottle a style heroine in itself, adding a bit of fashion to every bathroom but the scent is one of a kind! Witty, chic and oh-so-different! Created by perfumer Daniela Andrier in connection with Marni’s designer Consuelo Castiglioni, the ingredients couldn’t be more selective than this: Pepper, citrus and sweet spices with a touch of floral and wood. Sounds funky? It is and sure will make you smell like no other! This heavy scent has gotten me plenty of attention so far and is my true number one – ALWAYS!
Vicolo Fiori by Etro
A bit of Italian spring on the go: This modern and elegant scent by Milanese fashion house Etro is so fresh, it made my sunny days in Cape Town pure bliss – always and forever reminding me of those travels. It’s heavy note on bell flower and mandarin works refreshing and the small bottle is so handy, you can bring it everywhere.
Eau Vitaminée by Biotherm
This quick refresher is an oldie but a goodie. My mum introduced me to this summer scent years ago and not only does it remind me of her, it’s 100% citrus, zingy and cool mix is the best quick freshen up break you can get. Created by the French Beauty brand Biotherm, you should opt for this yellow bottle every once in a while.
Now, if you are looking to get a smell that keeps you fresh in summer and may well take you right into autumn than I suggest you give those scents a go! One of these three odours may just be to your liking or if you’re not that into perfume, maybe try some of the body lotions instead. xx conny.
