How to wear a poncho in winter
Ponchos have been the talk of the fashion industry ever since Burberry brought out its infamous blankets for autumn/winter 2014! Ever since then, fashionistas have taken to wrap up in oversize blankets, XL ponchos and styles featuring ethnic prints and autumnal colours. Though most of us may have thought that the poncho would be a blast of the past, this fashion item has actually managed to stay around and is currently experiencing a fashionable integration into every girl’s wardrobe. Especially in those who didn’t follow the trend last year but are now ready for it.
And though ponchos are a great way to keep warm while still looking stylish, the large wraparounds are not the most easy to style. That’s why here comes a guideline on how to wear a poncho in winter – leaving you look stylish and oh-so-warm!
1.) For shopping trips and walks in the outdoors: Ponchos are the number one item if you want to learn everything about layering. So if you are looking to stay warm, wear your skinnies, boots and jumper, simply layering the poncho on top, using it as your jacket!
2.) For the office: Ponchos generally keep you warm. So opt for a leather jacket, layering your poncho on top. When you arrive at work, take off the leather jacket and work your poncho on top of a longsleeve.
3.) Add some detail: Belts are a great way to add structure and detail to your poncho look. Simply wrap a belt around your poncho, buckle up and you are ready.
